Sandra is a
well-known and featured speaker (nationally and
internationally) on the topic of reaching and teaching diverse learners.
She had the honor of being a keynote speaker and workshop presenter in
Costa Rica, Colombia, Israel, Brazil, South Africa, Spain, Sweden,
Philippines, Guatemala, Iceland, as well as throughout the United States
and Canada.
Sandra is the author of several popular and best-selling books
published by Jossey-Bass (a Wiley company) which have been translated
into other languages and sold throughout the world:

Sandra received her B.A.
and M.A. degrees from the University of Illinois. During her 23 years
teaching in public schools, she was an award-winning educator (including
California Resource Specialist of the Year) and served in her district
(San Diego City Schools) as a mentor teacher. Currently, Sandra is an
educational consultant and trainer. She lives in San Diego,
California, but works with districts around the country. During the past
10 years, Sandra has done a lot of work in the Bronx and other New York
schools – to implement instructional and behavioral strategies, supports
and interventions for at-risk students, and train educators in these
practices. Sandra was an instructor for Bureau of Education & Research (BER),
and on the faculty of NICHQ (National Initiative for Children's Healthcare
Quality) - their project for improving the care of children with Attention
Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder).
Sandra trains
thousands of educators every year. She presents many seminars to
school districts and organizations (which can be arranged by contacting

Sandra has been listed
for several years in Who's Who in American Women, and Who's Who in
American Education. She served 3 years on the National Professional
Advisory Board of CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit
Disorders), and is a contributing author to CHADD Educator's Manual on
AD/HD and a number of other published books and magazines. Her
resources are widely used to train educators, parents, psychologists,
and other school support personnel throughout the world in best practices
for reaching and teaching children with ADHD, LD, and other students with
diverse learning and behavioral needs.
