Rubric for "Compare/Contrast" of Two Books:

The first paragraph introduces the idea that the 2 books have both similarities and differences. (1 2 3 4 5)

The second paragraph tells about the similarities between the two books. (1 2 3 4 5)

The third paragraph tells about the differences between the two books. (1 2 3 4 5)

The last paragraph draws the writing together and restates the main idea

of the paper. (1 2 3 4 5)

There is evidence and supporting details given for paragraphs 2 and 3 (1 2 3 4 5)

The paper shows that the reader related in some way to the characters,

plot, or setting (1 2 3 4 5)

 

Partial Rubric for a ‘Friendly Letter’

(0-4 scale with 0=no evidence/4=very evident)

1. Does the heading include a complete date? (0 1 2 3 4)

2. Does the letter have an appropriate greeting followed by a comma? (0 1 2 3 4)

3. Does the author share his/her personal experiences in the body? (0 1 2 3 4)

4. Does the letter have an appropriate closing? (0 1 2 3 4)
